Copper Lungs new single 'Life Your Way' started when songwriter Darren's girlfriend challenged him to write a song about their dog, yet it turned into something beautiful and inspirational. Making their magnificent return to the music scene in 2024 with two singles 'Younger Heart' and 'Falling', the Dundee based pop-rock outfit are a rising sensation with music lovers. The bands single 'Life Your Way', which was released on the 30th of August was supported by a hometown show at Church, Dundee, that looked incredible from the posts I saw on social media. Copper Lungs most recent single serves as a tribute to the bonds we create and the memories we cherish.
"We aim to write powerful catchy songs with deep meanings in them, and writing 'Life Your Way' was an incredible journey as it really made me think about life. I hope that others out there can relate to this feeling of living life to the fullest, with its highs and lows." - (Darren, Vocalist/Guitarist/Songwriter)
The single begins with the bright indie pop-rock sound that Copper Lungs are known for, with the strong twang of the Scottish vocal shining through. From the second 'Life Your Way' begun I knew I was listening to a song that is strongly emotive and the band manage to capture of that feeling of thinking of your loved ones and the moments you've shared in and smiled. I found myself getting lost in the catchy chorus and I specifically found myself enjoying the drum beat that keeps the track further rooted into the indie rock genre, rather than it just being an indie pop song. My main take away from this track is the feeling I got from it, the way they capture the emotion of wanting to keep the memory of loved ones close is really special.
