Copper Lungs - Waiting For You

Scottish band Copper Lungs recently released their emotive indie-rock track 'Waiting For You'.

From Dundee, Scotland, Copper Lungs bring strong indie-rock and emotional lyrics in new single 'Waiting For You'. Originally formed in 2012, Copper Lungs had a run of releases that took them all across the UK. This included sell-out hometown shows, appearances at T In The Park, Wickerman and BBC Radio 1 Academy. After a little break the band returned in 2022 and have been delivering catchy indie rock since. New single 'Waiting For You' manages to capture emotional lyrics while combining them with catchy melodies. The song was inspired by the restrictive nature of the Covid Pandemic and the yearning we had for freedom.

"I used this song to put my feelings into something positive when the anxiety of being trapped crept in. I needed to write it down to reinforce my mind towards positive thoughts. We filmed the video on a cold and windy day in a lovely part of the Scottish Coast, and it really tied all of my ideas together nicely with the emotion of the song." - (Darren Lindsay, Lead Vocalist)

'Waiting For You' is a strong indie-rock track that's got this nice rhythm along with catchy lyrics and overall, the song feels bright and kind of hopeful. You definitely get a sense of the emotion that has been put into this song and the large instrumental doesn't take away from the lyrical message. In a way the Scottish heavy vocal with the powerful indie instrumentals reminds me of artists like Chvrches, who I also think are great with nailing emotion fueled tracks. 'Waiting For You' feels big and if you watch the video that accompanies the single you will feel this even more.
