Deadfire - Pro(Pain)

Aberdeen's Deadfire are releasing the foot stomping anthem that is 'Pro(Pain)' on the 28th of April, ahead of their busy 2023 touring schedule.

Deadfire are releasing another high energy, foot stomping, headbanging track next week (28th April). Deadfire who were originally formed back in 2012 have seen a revolving door of bassists and guitarist before almost ten years later, they eventually found their permanent line-up in 2021. The now sturdy unit play together, tour together, drink together and their onstage chemistry is obvious. The Scottish rockers already have two European tours under their belts and have played just about every town and city in Germany, Polland, Holland and Czech Republic. Deadfire have also played support for the likes of Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Hawkwind, Sham 69 and Sister Sin. Moving into 2023 the band have some exciting upcoming gigs including a headline at 13th Note in Glasgow on the 29th of April and the 'Heaven & Hell Tour' with Harsh throughout June. My first thoughts on new single 'Pro(Pain) was that it was like Deadfire have leveled up. This one reminded me a bit of previous single 'Anxiety Society' (a personal favourite) but it's more like a big brother, that little bit more grown up. The track that lyrically focusses on the whole "rich get richer" thing has a very similar energy to Rage Against the Machine's 'Killing in the Name'. I can see people stomping their feet and screaming along. Overall, I think 'Pro(Pain)' is very Deadfire. It's got that heavy dirtiness we are used to from them but also has taken a step up technically, and the vocals are probably the strongest I have ever heard from these guys. If you were going to check out one song from the Aberdeen four-piece this should definitely be a contender. So, give it a listen when it drops on the 28th.
