Myriad - Living on the Internet

Kayleigh

Indie-pop four-piece Myriad, channel an infectious rock energy with their new single 'Living on the Internet'.

Myriad welcome in their new era with the rock infused indie track 'Living on the Internet'. The four-piece indie-pop group from Southampton have become known for their infectious and energetic tracks that are lyrically relevant to the modern times which we live in. Their relatable approach and catchy sound has gained the band over 80,000 followers across their social media sites. Myriad have already been achieving some great things, and at the start of 2025 they will not only release their next EP but will play their biggest headline show to date. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Sea Girls, Arctic Monkeys or Spacey Jane, 'Living on the Internet' is one of the bands more rock leaning tracks. Lyrically the song sticks to the bands relevant writing style by tackling the theme of artificial intelligence and being chronically online.

"'Living on the Internet' is about how artificial intelligence is growing exponentially and how everyone is chronically online in 2024. We are all scrolling on our phones endlessly - it's making us a new breed of human being, connected to the internet like it's our life support." - (Myriad)

'Living on the Internet' has a strong rock energy but definitely hasn't lost Myriad's signature bright indie riffs. There's a sort of 70's rolling feel within the vocal melody of the verses that makes this one different, signally that new era. The chorus however is that pure energetic and infectious fun sound that Myriad are known for, the lyric "three, two,one I'm gonna f*ck up your life" is almost definitely going to get stuck in your head. The track was released mid November and it's already gained over 2,000 streams on Spotify, I could tell from first hearing this that people are going to love it, and I think I'm right.
