Myriads new EP 'Living on the Internet' gives listeners a modern tale with a backdrop of fresh and infectious melodies. The indie-pop four-piece from Southampton have been gaining a loyal fanbase over the years with their indie rock infused pop sound. Pulling influence from the likes of Sea Girls, The 1975 and Foals these guys have a light feeling indie sound that's laden with modern lyrics. The group have previously performed at well known festivals like Isle of Wight Festival and Teddy Rocks further pulling in that growing following.

"For us, this EP is a snapshot of what our lives are really like in 2025" - (Myriad)

"The title track 'Living on the Internet' came from our frustrations with how artificial intelligence is intruding into our daily lives and how everyone seems to be chronically online." - (Myriad)

Opening the EP with previously released single 'Living on the Internet' is a strong catchy intro. This one feels rooted somewhere between 00's pop-punk and indie rock but is completed with Myriad's bright and infectious energy that they are known for. I said this in my previous review of this when it came out as a single but I still believe this one will get stuck in your head.

"With 'Oxytocin', we wanted to bring the project back into the sweet reality of an intoxicating romance, that feeling you get wondering if it's real or if it's all going to end tomorrow." - (Myriad)

As always with 'Oxytocin' Myriad completely shine with the catchy chorus. This one feels a little more melodic and romanticized which is perfect for the story of the song. They seem to capture the feeling of falling in love with the light yet anthemic melody. This one was made to be performed live and the drum beat is perfect for a room of people to clap along with.

"On 'Sick of the Sound' we touch on the feeling of anxiety and not wanting to be left alone with your thoughts "in the dead of night"" - (Myriad)

Steering in a slightly different direction from Myriads normal light-hearted sound 'Sick of the Sound' has a little bit more of an edge to it, seeming to draw more from classic indie rock, yet they don't lose their overall vibrancy. It may not be as instantly catchy as other songs Myriad have put out but I actually think that one really shows off the four-pieces ability to spice up their sound a little bit while still staying true to Myriad. I am also a big fan of how the guitars feel like they were dipped in a little bit of rock n roll.

""Wasted Time" takes us back to the romance, telling the heart-wrenching story of a love that has fallen apart" - (Myriad)

It may be a heart-wrenching tale but 'Wasted Time' is a hugely energetic and fun song almost as if it's reminiscing more on the good moments than the bad. This is the first time I've heard Myriad really pull from a pop-punk place and that opening riff drives an electric energy into the track that's never lost. I have to say that 'Wasted Time' is my favourite, this is a song I would be excited to hear come on on the radio, that chorus is again massively catchy while the drums deliver a beat that makes you want to get up and bounce. Much like 'Oxytocin' this one has an anthemic quality but the overall energy of it in my opinion makes this one so much more fun to listen to. As always Myriad have put out something great with their 'Living on the Internet' EP continuing to prove why they are gaining the following they have. Not only are this band making songs to get stuck in your head but they're pairing that with relatable lyrics and an energy that is unmatched.
