Palejoy - Max Payne Au Chocolat

Kayleigh

Aberdeen emos Palejoy continue on their exploration into human vulnerability with new single 'Max Payne Au Chocolat'.

Palejoys new single 'Max Payne Au Chocolat' sees the band continue on their journey into venerability, emotional complexity and human experience. Known for their introspective and emotionally charged sounds, Palejoy are bringing a fresh emo energy to the Aberdeen scene. 'Max Payne Au Chocolat' offers a heart-wrenching look at how love can be distorted by unspoken pain and emotional turmoil. Palejoy successfully blend emotional lyrics with bouncy riffs creating a unique take on the emo genre. With a dark thunderous almost post-core feel behind this track 'Max Payne Au Chocolat' feels a little darker than previous releases from Palejoy. Having said that though there's still a bouncy feel to the guitars as the piece rolls on. This one felt a little reminiscent of 90's alt bands like Deftones at times but with a strong emo vocal. This is easily my favourite song that these guys have put out and the big chorus especially stands out, Palejoy are giving listeners something fresh yet deeply nostalgic and packed with emotional vulnerability.
